Hero MotoCorp, the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, has launched the much-anticipated all-new Hero Xtreme 160R in India. The Xtreme 160R marks Hero's entry into the competitive 160cc motorcycle category. The entry-level naked streetfighter is available at a price point of INR 99,950* (Front Disc with Single Channel ABS) and Rs. INR 1,03,500* (Double Disc with Single Channel ABS) in the Indian market, *Ex-showroom prices.
Unveiled at the Hero World 2020 event in the northern Indian city of Jaipur in February this year, the Xtreme 160R takes design inspirations from 1.R concept showcased at EICMA in 2019. Hero says the Xtreme 160R offers an unparalleled mix of performance, sportiness, and features, while boasting a muscular stance with an optimum mix of comfort and control.
The new Xtreme 160R comes with a 160cc air-cooled BS-VI compliant engine that is powered by Hero’s XSens technology and advanced Programmed-Fuel-Injection. The engine delivers a power output of 15 BHP @ 8500 RPM and 14 Nm of peak torque, and a class-leading acceleration of 0-60 km/h in 4.7 seconds. Hero says the motorcycle has one of the best power-to-weight ratios in its class, thanks to the low kerb-weight of 138.5kg.
The new Xtreme 160R is paired with a first-in-segment all LED package, from a sculpted full LED headlamp with LED DRLs in front, to LED indicators with hazard switch and down to the rear H signature LED tail lamp. The motorcycle also gets an inverted fully digital LCD display together that offers essential information like speed, tachometer, odometer, trip meter, clock, fuel efficiency, etc. Other design highlights include an integrated pillion grab rail, a step-up seat, and a compact exhaust.[gallery size="full" ids="18456,18464,18465,18463,18455"]The bike sits on an all-new chassis. Braking duties are carried out by petal-type discs at both ends with a single-channel ABS as standard. Ground clearance of the motorcycle is 165mm.
The new Xtreme 160R is available in two variants - Front Disc with Single Channel ABS and Double Disc (Front and Rear) with Single Channel ABS and three vibrant color combinations of Pearl Silver White, Vibrant Blue, Sports Red.The new Hero Xtreme 160R rivals the likes of TVS Apache RTR 1604 4V, Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Yamaha MT-15, Suzuki Gixxer, etc.
